Welcome to the official website of Nepalese Society of Neurosurgeons (NESON)!
It is an honor and a privilege to serve as the President of the NESON. I am deeply grateful to the members of NESON for electing me and providing me with this opportunity.
This website provides a variety of information related to the wide ranging activities of NESON which are relevant to the neurosurgical fraternity in Nepal.
The NESON is a nonprofit and membership supported organization founded in 2007. Its sole objective is to support the development of its fellow members by providing them with the opportunity to do professional communication, research and publication. The society strives to promote educational and scholarly exchange on the many facets of neurosurgery inside the country and abroad. We often partner with other national and international organizations in accomplishing our goals, as productive partnerships are increasingly vital in the changing world scenario where communication options are only one click away. To accomplish its mission, NESON holds an annual conference and several CMEs and workshops throughout the year. Every two years an international conference is also held.
NESON has emerged as a small but powerful society in Nepal with a visible presence in the national and international arena. The vibrancy of NESON was clearly palpable at our first international conference in March 2016 when many international delegates remarked on the high level of science evident in the presentations. Active planning for the 6th annual conference on April 6-7, 2018 is well underway and I am sure that we will have an outstanding meeting this time as well.
NESON has well over 65 full members and many associate members reflecting the impressive growth of the society. We are in good position but there is still room for improvement. We are engaged in strategic planning to contemplate our society’s future, especially in the areas of research and good quality publications. Our priorities are to strengthen the NESON membership and to serve our members and our community as best as we can. To this end, I urge you to be an active part of NESON as contributions and approaches of each member are so critical for the proper growth and development of any organization. Please spread the word to your colleagues encouraging them to join us. You will find membership to be professionally and personally rewarding in many ways.
I welcome all new NESON members to our society.
I look forward to working with you over next two years.
